§ 2-1-102 Operation of an Unregistered Motor Vehicle on a Public Road
It shall be unlawful for any person to operate a motor vehicle within this state unless the vehicle has been registered
with the Department of Motor Vehicles. It may be a defense under this section if the driver can show proof of purchase
of the vehicle and that the vehicle was purchased within the last 30 days.
Violating this subsection is a $500 Fine and an immediate surrender of the offenders vehicle.
